Why Fetch! Pet Care?

Hello! We are Ed and Janice and we own and manage Fetch! Pet Care of Northwest Bergen County. We are originally from Northwest Bergen county and have had pets most of our lives. We currently have two dogs of our own, Loki and Karli, and with our passion for animals we decided to open a Fetch! Franchise 15+ years ago. We provide loving pet sitting and dog walking services. We treat them like they are our own.

My name is Meg and I have been working with animals for over 15 years. It means so much to me that I have opportunities to help out and care for other people’s pets. Nothing puts a smile on my face more than seeing a puppy or a kitty, but it’s particularly the older pets I’m truly fond of. I love the way they understand just about anything and how a simple conversation with them can benefit us both. I have a Bombay kitty named Bliss and she is the light of my life. We both enjoy walks in the park (she in a stroller), late night movie sessions, and binging on nudges and kisses. Life would be very boring without the love of our fur babies.

My love and passion for animals began as far back as I can remember. My mom still has an audio cassette of me at three years old trying to explain why I left the yard to see the neighbors kittens!  I quickly became aware that I had to be a voice for the voiceless. Fast forward about 20 years, I am a single mom to a son who follows right in my footsteps. He had been asking for a puppy to add to our collection of fish, cats, lizards, you name it. It would not be fair to bring a puppy into our household since I work such long hours to make ends meet. I was then introduced to Fetch! pet care. What a great way to have dogs (and all other types of animals) and then to be able care for them and send them home when their owners come back. I have since gotten involved with animal rescue and rehabilitation, and working at an animal hospital part-time. I care for and love each, and every animal that comes my way as if it were my own. Many of those have ended up living with me long-term. I have always had a house full of animals, and somehow never went out looking for a single one. I love them all the same and truly believe they came to me for a reason.

My love for animals started when I was growing up. I used to visit all the houses with dogs and cats in our neighborhood. Eventually, my parents allowed us to have a cat-which quickly became 3! I currently have the 2 best boys I could imagine. Chase and Cagan. Chase is a grey tabby and Cagan is a black cat. They are brothers from the same litter. My sister and I adopted them from a local shelter. I have been working with FETCH for 10+ years. My favorite thing about it is getting to meet and care for all different breeds and personalities of dogs. In my spare time I enjoy hiking and spending time with friends. I am also a distant runner with a goal of running a half marathon in all 50 states (currently at 40). Wish me luck in my last 10 states and hopefully I can care for your pets soon!

I grew up in NYC and as a kid I used to walk my neighbors dogs. I rescued a pup left at the park and my family had to then move to Nj. I took in a shelter pup named Trixie and took the best care of her until her last day. I decided after that I wanted to be the care and home for any pup that needed my time. I’ve been a fetch employee for 12 years and have boarded the smallest to the biggest dogs and enjoy all the pup personalities that walk through my door. My boys always have a pet and my husband always has a pup to walk.

My wife and I have been married for 27 years we have one son who is 22. In the years we’ve been married we have had 4 dogs; 1 Lab, 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and a Mini Aussie. My wife is a full time dog walker and it’s my third job (although it is definitely my favorite). If you want us to walk your dogs we will take care of them like they’re ours which means they get spoiled! These are the 2 boys who still bless us everyday!

Hi, I’m Lisa. I’m married and I have twin daughters. We all love animals, especially dogs. We have a Bichon named Cooper who is our pride and joy. I love watching dogs in my home. We enjoy watching Cooper interact with them. We treat them as if they were our own pup. I am so happy that I get to work with Janice and Fetch.

Hi. I’m Judy and this is my rescue dog Luna.  All my dogs have been rescues. I have always loved animals but due to my work load I didn’t have the time I wanted to spend with them.  I am now retired from my professional career and working for FETCH. It’s a great way to make up some of that time!

Hi! My name is Sierra Hofer. I am a 21 year old college student at York College of Pennsylvania. I have a 7 year old mutt named Buck who my family and I adopted. I love both dogs and cats equally. Caring and spending time with animals is a passion of mine.

My name is Ellen Salemo. I want to share a little about myself and my love for pets. I’m married and my husband and I have a beautiful blended family. Three girls of my own that I raised and my husband, who raised a daughter and two sons. We have two grandchildren, a dog named Benny (a Dachshund-Yorkie mix), and two Guinea pigs. I’ve grown up with dogs and cats all the way into my adulthood. I’ve had many experiences with pets. I watched my beagle, Buffy, give birth to a litter of puppies that my dad helped with. Later on I helped my Cat, Fluffy, with the birth of her litter of kittens. Throughout my adult years I’ve not only cared for my own pets, but also for my family and friends’ pets. I can’t imagine my life without them. I recently started working for Fetch and I already love the dogs I’m caring for and walking. The experience is very rewarding. In closing I’d like to share a picture our dog Benny.

I’ve been with Fetch now for at least 15 years. I believe my wife and I were one of their first walkers/sitters!! We have 2 cats of our own… or I should say they have us! We live vicariously through other peoples dogs by sitting for them. Our cats enjoy all the pups that come to our home. Being vegetarians we’ve always had a love of animals, working with Fetch has strengthened that love!

Hi, I’m Jake and I’m from Midland Park. I have been at Fetch for four months. I love bringing my family and friends’ dogs to the lake, on the dock, or even a boat ride once they’re ready. I grew up around neglected rescues and still live with two today. Helping dogs has become a passion of mine, even if its just for a quick walk!
